Delightful Candle Wedding Favors
Candles are a popular choice when it comes to wedding favors and there is a wide variety of styles to choose from. From tea lights to votives, pillars and jars, it is a good idea to research the different types of candles and their holders before you place your favor order.
Tea lights: these are small candles in silver cups and are often sold in sets. Basic white tea lights are the cheapest and are usually sold in bags of ten or more. There is also a wide choice of colored and scented tea lights as well as boxed gift sets. With tea lights you will need to include a pretty holder so they can be used safely. Check out dollar stores and supermarkets for inexpensive tea light sets.
Votives: these are larger than tea lights standing around 2 inches tall. They are a nice size for wedding favors and make a nicer offering than a single tea light. Again you will need to find a nice holder to accompany it. White votives are a nice choice for a traditional wedding, whilst you will also find colored and scented varieties to suit other wedding styles.
Taper or Dinner: these are the tall, thin candles you usually see standing in candelabras or on elegant candle sticks. They are not particularly popular as wedding favors but boxed sets with mini holders can make a nice choice.
Pillar: these are larger and wider and are usually seen in churches and as home décor accessories. They are not really suitable as favors.
Jar Candles: these are candles in stylish glass jars with lids. They have become very popular in recent times and are available in a wide range of colors, sizes and scents. Although more pricey than votives or tea lights they do come set in a glass jar so you will not need to add a holder as well and the jar also offers the potential to add a personalized label.
You will also find a wide choice of novelty and shaped or carved candles which could prove perfect for a themed wedding. From snowballs to sea shells, flip flops to fairytale carriages there are candles available for every style of wedding!

Biedermann amp; Sons H5005 Florencia Candle Pot For Pillars $31.85 More than 800 years ago the village of Schwaebisch Gmuend was founded by the Kings of Staufen who were responsible for settling this region known for its artisans specializing in the production of gold silver and brass jewelry as well as decorative ornaments. These works of art were shipped to markets in Italy and Western Europe. The tradition in metal arts survives today in this medieval walled town located near Stuttgart Germany. For generations families have engaged in ornament cutting designing their own unique decorations to give friends and relatives as gifts during the holiday season. The Biedermanns originated the creation of a single Christmas ornament commemorating each year drawing on the talent from this region. In the fall of 1970 we contacted several artisan families who among them designed and cut the first ornament which depicted the town square of Schwaebisch Gmuend. Since that first edition each year a group of artists has selected a single design from those submitted by the townspeople and the ornament to be cut for the coming season is chosen. This is now a tradition that the people of Schwaebisch Gmuend and America cherish. Designs through the years have been selected from those created by school children and adults. Our Master Cutter Georg Neumaier directs the production of the Biedermann Commemorative Ornament and is also involved in selecting the years winning design. The now very valuable original brass ornament was supplemented in 1984 by our first edition silverplated ornament. Beginning in 1987 alternate years depict the story of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Nineteen ninetyeight began the first edition of the Christmas Quotations Series of ornaments.
