Candle scents not coming out right.?
I was looking for a new hobby so I decided to try to make candles. I am having a lot of problems with the scents. The frangrance is never strong enough. The candle smells good after I make it, but as soon as its lit the fragrance dissapears. I have also noticed that some of the fragrance oil I use is either standing at the bottom of the mold when I pull the candle out or the candle is all greasy. Any help would be great!
I've never had much luck using fragrance oils while making candles. I prefer to use candle scents made for candles. And yes, I find I need ALOT of candle scent to get the candles to retain the smell, I use about 2-3ml per pound of wax, sometimes more. Also, I make sure all my candles have both steric acid and vybar added, both help the wax to hold onto scents. Also don't heat your wax too high, it can cause the scent to not bind as well with the wax. I usually add scent last, tight before I pour. Hope this helps.
